Everybody loves to travel, especially when you get attractive offers or big discounts on your bookings. However, sometimes, people often get confused or couldn’t muster the courage to go on a vacation due to all the complexities involved in the process, which are aggravated by the lack of knowledge about the destination chosen and the updates about the appropriate fare.

With the emergence of EaseMyTrip, all these problems come to an end. From easy flight bookings to seeing sights to booking cabs, this digital platform has become the one-stop website built for the end users. Founded by Nishant Pitti and Prashant Pitti, this company allows you to freely travel anywhere without worrying much about anything during their trips.

How Did It Begin?

It all started when two brothers, Nishant Pitti, Prashant Pitti came up with an unique idea to save on the travel journey of their family members in order to impress them. During the process, the duo ended up saving a good amount of money which also made them quite famous in the family.

Therefore, Nishant and Prashant together decided to start a travel agency and began booking air tickets and selling tour packages through various ground-breaking offline and online marketing strategies. Initially, the brothers lost all of their money in the process.

However, after some time, referrals from friends and family came to rescue and a big turnaround occurred when an airline approached the Pitti brothers to become their travel partners.

Obstacles In The Road

Founded in 2008, EaseMyTrip catered to the offline travel market for the first three years, helping travel agents book their domestic air tickets via its website at affordable prices. The bootstrapped startup eventually started growing at a fast pace as it was the only company in the B2B2C travel space offering this service.

But Pitti knew that the good run might not last long for them as offline travel agencies could become obsolete in the near future, with most of the services going online.

Despite many travel agents threatening them to pull out their support, which also led to a 70-80% drop in business, Pitti brothers decided to pivot and enter the B2C travel space.

Success Of EaseMyTrip

In 2021, EaseMyTrip finally entered the much-coveted unicorn club when its market cap crossed $1 Bn after a successful IPO listing of INR 512 crore. Today, EaseMyTrip is one of the leading online travel agencies in India, boasting a network of more than 61K+ travel agents, over one million Hotel partner networks, 400+ International & Domestic Airlines, and more than 11 Million customers network.

Furthermore, EaseMyTrip collaborated with several companies like Airbnb, Yatra, and Oyo Rooms to form the Confederation of Hospitality, Technology, and Tourism Industry (CHATT), which is now touted to be an industry body for the tourism space in India.
