Zypp Electric: Pollution-Free Solution For Last Minutes Deliveries

Zypp Electric

In India, you have seen people investing in electric cars and bikes for their personal usage. But, have you ever heard of electric bikes being used for last-mile deliveries?  The term last-mile delivery refers to the last stage of any delivery process, from a transportation hub to the final destination ( for example your doorstep). With a well-thought idea to make last-minute deliveries carbon emission-free, Zypp Electric – an electric scooter-fleet chain was launched in 2017. Akash Gupta and his better half Rashi Agarwal together started Zypp electric bikes to help India embrace sustainable mobility solutions and curb pollution levels across the country.

In this article, we will tell you about the entire success story of Zypp Electric and its founders.

How Did It Begin?

It all started with a commendable thought of making India a pollution-free country. Rashi Agarwal and her husband Akash Gupta have always been avid travelers and during their foreign trips, the couple observed that one thing which was common in most of the overseas countries was their eco-friendly and sustainable transportation system. That’s when Rashi and Akash thought of implementing the same in India as well.

In India, people talk about the rising problem of pollution every day, but only a few of them seriously work on solving the issue and Rashi and Akash were one of those brainy entrepreneurs.

In order to reduce the carbon emissions in the country, the couple launched Zypp, an EV-as-a-service platform in 2017. With this platform, they are aiming to facilitate the last-mile deliveries for both the delivery partners and merchants by reducing the total cost required for the same

Success Story Of Zypp

Zypp has had an intriguing journey so far. Since their inception in the market, the startup has grown into a Rs 125 crore business, boasting a fleet of 15,000 electric scooters under the Zypp Electric brand providing last-mile delivery for e-commerce platforms.

Today, Zypp has over 100 partners across logistics, grocery, food, and pharma sectors and it is associated with the likes of Zomato, Swiggy, Bigbasket, Blinkit, Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra, PharmEasy, Delhivery, Spencers, and others.

With more than 11 years of experience in marketing, sales, distribution, product management and many more domains, Akash has taken Zypp to the next level in just a few years of its launch in the market.

Zypp Team On A Mission Of Zero-Emission

Since the beginning of their company, Zypp founders had a clear vision in their mind to have more than 5 lakh EVs in the next 4 years in order to reduce carbon footprint in India. So far, Zypp has reduced carbon emissions in the country by a significant amount.

Their incredible goal of ‘Mission Zero-Emission by 2030’ seems to be heading in the right direction, as Zypp has managed to save more than 17 million kg of carbon emissions, which is equivalent to carbon emissions from approximately 1,669,941 gallons of diesel consumed.

The company is currently focusing on expanding its operations to other top cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Chennai.
